LEAP emerged as a global platform and a unique event for future technologies and disruptive technology professionals. The first edition of the LEAP tech conference debuted in Riyadh in February 2022, drawing an impressive crowd of over 100,000 visitors. The event also featured 700+ exhibitors, 330+ top investors, and over 500 global CEOs and expert speakers who covered the latest technology topics.
The second edition of LEAP brought together top entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and other key stakeholders from the region. This edition showcased over 500 expert speakers across 11 tech conferences, each delivering cutting-edge content and insightful perspectives on key technology topics. Among the high-profile speakers for LEAP 2023 were CP Gurnani - CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra; Keith Jordan - VP of Innovation at Mastercard; Susan Kilrain - NASA astronaut; Mudassir Sheikha - Co-founder and CEO of Careem; and UQ's CEO, Sebastian Weidt.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet the UQ CEO, Sebastian Weidt, who was among the stellar lineup of over 500 speakers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sebastian addressed the topic Quantum Computing as a new paradigm of computing.
Sebastian's segment dissected the the quantum industry at large, and the societal need for quantum computing to optimise the applications that will change our world for the better. Sebastian's talk also explored why scalability and modularity is crucial to achieving 'true' utility.
