AIST and Universal Quantum have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive the development of a truly scalable trapped-ion quantum computing solution in collaboration with Japan’s quantum ecosystem.
Today, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universal Quantum to strengthen their collaboration towards the industrialisation of quantum technology.
Through this partnership, Universal Quantum and the Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI Technology (G-QuAT) will explore the possibility of providing scalable quantum compute power, developing complex quantum applications, and jointly advancing the underlying subsystems necessary for large-scale quantum computing. The collaboration also aims to contribute to the growth of Japan’s international quantum ecosystem, reinforcing its position as a global leader in quantum technology.
